Somerset West Letting Agency is a local, independent firm specialising in Residential Lettings and Property Management. We are a 'not for profit' organisation which is fully focused on the needs of the landlord and their tenant because unlike estate agents, our loyalties are not divided by dealing with property sales and mortgages.


We understand that letting your property, especially for the first time, can be a worrying experience and with this in mind our most important consideration is providing you, the landlord, with the best possible service and the right tenant for your property. We never forget that the property is your most important asset and we can confidently assure you that by instructing us to act as your Letting and Management Agent your asset will be in professional and caring hands.

Our fees are very competitive and tiered dependant on the level of service required. We are particularly committed to investment landlords and savings can be made on the smallest of portfolios. See "Our Fees" page for more details.

Carefully Selected Tenants

Drawn from a continuously updated register, all prospective tenants are thoroughly referenced and credit checked. In some cases we will also require a guarantor.


Our relationship with the fire service

Staff Profiles


Somerset West Letting Agency is run by Karen Milton, Bronte Allbury, Jason Court and Victoria Hobbs. 



Karen Milton

 is the Private Sector Housing Manager and has worked within the housing field for 31 years. Most of the time has been spent in the social housing sector working for both local authorities and housing associations around the country. Her jobs have primarily been in housing management and letting departments. In 2005 Karen set up her own letting and management company from scratch, successfully working closely with landlords and their tenants. The business was sold in 2010 following a decision to move to Somerset, the agency still remains on the High Street in Gloucestershire today. Related Qualifications; Karen has a BTEC Higher National Certificate in Housing studies; a Level 3 Chartered Institute of Housing qualification in Housing Practice, "Supporting Homeless People"; Level 3 Chartered Institute of Housing qualification in Housing Practice, "Homelessness Amongst Ex-Offenders" and a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 3 award in Health and Safety. Karen is currently studying for the Level 3 qualification with the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA). In her spare time Karen likes walking her black Labrador, Thomas; gardening, nature and history.


 

Bronte Allbury is one of our Lettings Advisors, and has worked in the property sector for 4 years, almost 2 years being with Somerset West Letting Agency and 2 years in residential sales, with 12 years of customer service experience including 4 years in the financial sector.  Related Qualifications; Bronte has a NVQ Level 2 in Residential Sales, level 1 City and Guilds functional skills qualification in Information and Communication Technology, numerous customer services qualifications, and is working towards her Level 2 qualification with the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) Likes; Rabbits, family time, cake & baking.


Jason Court is one of our Lettings Advisors and has worked within the finance and audit sectors for 20 years, with experience in operations, statistics and customer service.  Related Qualification; Jason will be studying the Level 2 qualification with the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).  Likes; Cinema, walking and Italian food.


Victoria (Vickie) Hobbs is our Management Accountant working across the company for SWLA and Arc. She has many years of experience and is also now responsible for data protection. For SWLA Vickie looks after collecting all the rents and paying the landlords and can also assist with the bond scheme. Related qualifications: Vickie has achieved her level 4 qualification with the Association of  Accounting Technicians (AAT).  She is also studying her BA Honors in business management.  Likes: Camper vans, performing at theatres and dogs.
